Abstract

Challenge: Create a menu driven script that aids in adminisdtering a Linux network or server.

Script will require a good working knowledge of Linux commands as well as the ability to employ several scripting constructs including conditionals (if and case statements), looping (for and while), file management and reporting. This assessment assignment should be given to the students the week before the final exam so the students can determine what areas they need to put more focus. The instructor can assist in any areas where the student is having difficulties and share these findings with other students that masy be having the same problems. Good examples of menu driven scripts are available upon request for instructors only.
