Annette, I am so excited that the focus is on cultural competence-such an important topci for Social Work! I also like the use of the video reflection as an additonal measure. I am looking forward to your results!
This sounds great! How will students learn these skill sets? I wonder if you can also use the video reflections in the following semester to show students what to look forward to.
I am excited that this course has been created and look forward to your results. I would be interested in a comparison of video reflections beginning the course (the student's views, expectations etc) in relationship to the final reflection. Based on this course I would also appreciate a conversation of something like this as part of CPD?
Hi Annette! Is the cultural competence survey something you are developing or is the survey standardized and utilized as a validated instrument for measuring cultural competencies? Also, is the operational definition of cultural competence consistent across social sciences or are you defining it in a particular context? For instance, I am thinking of "cultural capital" vs. "social capital" - both of which may be different from the idea of "cultural competence". I like the addition of a final video reflection - great learning tool! Looking forward to following your research.
Hi Annette - I just wanted to follow up with this CATS. How are things going? I know you have this scheduled for the entire semester, but I was wondering if you were already seeing some positive results?
