What is the Purpose of the Assessment?

Students need to be aware of all the capabilities that Adobe Illustrator has in creating objects in the EMCC STEAM lab.

Describe the necessity for this assessment

Other than print design, students can be made aware of all the options there designs can be applied in the design field.

Describe how the practice will be implemented

I design two weeks of STEAM lab assignments, Steam Project: Vinyl Cutter Machine and Steam Project: Laser Etching.  These assignments use shading grayscale color methods for laser etching for keychains, nametages and awards nameplates, etc.  as well as cutting vinyl methods using vector shape design.

Interpret, compare, and describe the results

Instead of designing business cards, I have empowered my students to look beyond print design and implement what they learn in creating objects they and there future employers can take with them.  The students are becoming more engaged and exciting with what there new

After analyzing, and reflecting on the outcome, what are the next steps?

I am looking into added a third week of STEAM design to my classes and add another piece of technology that students can learn as part of my course.
