EMCC's Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) plan has been part of the Strategic Planning process for at least 7 years. The SEM plan is one of four institutional plans that provide specific strategies for the college to consider when implementing strategic planning priorities. In the early years, SEM was lead by the Student Affairs Vice President. Team members included several student affairs directors / managers and an OPIE represenative. During the 16/17, the SEM team recommended that the team be expanded to include faculty and other staff that were key in moving forward strategic enrollment initiatives. In 17/18, two faculty (recommended by Faculty Senate), one instructional dean, and an administrative services director were added to the SEM team. Additionally, the VPSA and OPIE director were recommended as co-leads. The SEM plan is now much more comprehensive in its approaches, and SEM strategies are in alignment with the strategic planing priorities of the college. Furthermore, communication about the importance of SEM has been enhanced. The SEM seemed OK, but it was not; it needed expanded membership to produce quality work.

Great ideas, Pattie! Most of my studies have focused on cross-functional teams and the importance of having equally represented departments and divisions on institutional teams to maximize outcomes.
