Checking for understanding.

I first make sure that I number each table from 1 to 8.

I will give the students a practice problem and tell them to work it out first themselves and then check their answers with the other members at the table. They all must come to agreement on the answers. (This is the first check level)

After the come to agreement, I then will have one person from table 1 go to table 2 and compare answers . They must come to agreement, if they disagree. This is same procedure is repeated with table 3 going to table 4, table 5 going to table 6, and table 7 going to table. (This is the second check level)

For the 3rd check level, I will then have a member of table 2 go to table 4 and compare answers (this guarantees tables 1-4 will be in agreement) , someone from table 6 go to table 8 to compare answers (this guarantees tables 5-8 are in agreement), and also someone from table 3 goes to table 5 and compares answers (this will guarantee the entire class is agreement) . All the groups must come to agreement.

By the time the 3 checking rounds are finished, everyone in the class should have the same answer.
