Weekly Reports for Humanities Classes

Submitted by Susan Malmo on

I changed the organization of most of my HUM and ENH classes so that students were compiling their responses into one Weekly Report at the end of the module. This has made grading easier for me, and it has helped students see a connection between the various activities and has caused them to value the Learning activities more highly.

Submitted by Whitney Morgan on

Prelicensure nursing students often have limited hands-on exposure to pediatric learning, which leads to gaps in confidence and clinical skill application. This initiative aims to increase students’ psychological safety while caring for pediatric patients by improving communication, assessment skills, atraumatic care, and medication safety. A needs assessment using faculty and student feedback identified deficits in growth and development, communication, atraumatic interventions, medication math, and overall student confidence.

Based on feedback from the previous year, the event format was redesigned to reduce the number of panel discussions and expand networking opportunities between students and industry professionals. The updated structure featured two focused panels representing IT and technician career pathways and significantly increased networking time with industry partners.

2025 AzTransfer Summit

Submitted by Isaac Torres on

The transfer experience at Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) remains a strategic priority, with 46% of 2023–2024 students indicating an intent to transfer (EMCC 2020–2024 Impact Report, p. 5). This underscores the need for continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation that strengthen the transfer pathway. EMCC also participates in the Ruffalo Noel-Levitz (RNL) Student Satisfaction Inventory (SSI) every three years. The SSI measures both importance and satisfaction, highlighting areas where high importance and low satisfaction signal a need for improvement.
